PLEASE REMEMBER THAT WE ATTEMPT TO BE A NUT FREE SCHOOL
ALL CHILDREN IN RECEPTION, YEAR 1 AND YEAR 2 ARE NOW ENTITLED TO A FREE HOT SCHOOL DINNER.
You do not need to send in any money if you want your child to receive a hot school dinner. Children can still bring a packed lunch from home if they prefer.
We use abm catering ltd for our school meals service. Meals are cooked on site, with one option each day and cost £2.25 per day (£11.25 per week). This price includes a fruit drink and water. From Summer Term 2019 onwards, our caterers will be Taylor Shaw Ltd.
Children may bring a packed lunch in each day from home if you wish. We ask that the packed lunch always includes a sandwich or equivalent item, a cold drink (not fizzy), and nothing that contains nuts. All containers should be unbreakable and waterproof. Hot liquids, soups and fizzy drinks are not to be brought to school.
Milk, milkshakes and fruit juice are on sale in the dinner hall for 15p.
Payment for meals may be paid for by cheque (payable to abm Ltd. please) or cash, at the beginning of each school week, term or half term. It should be sent in a sealed envelope with the child’s name, class and the amount clearly marked on the front.
Missed meals are credited and refunds are given at the end of term only.
Free school meals for Years 3 & 4
Free school meals are available to some children according to family income. It’s important to register for entitlement to free school meals, even if your child has a packed lunch – this is so we can receive additional funding (called the pupil premium) which we can use to help your child.
Children are entitled to Free School Meals if their parents, carers or guardians receive any of the following:
- Income support
- Income based job seekers allowance
- Income related employment and support allowance
- Guarantee pension credit
- Child Tax Credit, but not Working Tax Credit, and an annual income lower than the limit set by the Government
- Working Tax Credit Run On because you have ceased work or reduced your working hours to less than 16 per week
