The Parent Forum has been established to develop and enhance communication between St. Andrew’s Lower School and its parent body. The Governing Body and the staff at the leadership team at the school want to give parents and carers an opportunity to:
- Receive useful information,
- Hear about progress on development priorities,
- Be able to voice concerns and raise questions and receive a response.
(All communication about individual children or members of staff will still be undertaken individually, with the class teacher in the first instance.)
The Forum is open to all parents and carers of children at our school.
It is chaired by the Head Teacher or Deputy Head Teacher.
Al least one governor will also attend.
All staff may attend.
As the purpose of the Forum is the exchange of information, there will be no defined quorum. Decision making will continue to rest with the Head Teacher and the Governing Body.
The Forum will meet once every term. Parents will be given the opportunity to raise topics for discussion. There will be time for questions at every meeting. All parents will receive feedback via the school newsletter.

The following table gives examples of topics which are suitable for the Forum and examples of topics that do not form part of the Forum’s remit and will need to be discussed through individual appointments.
